STI means Sexually Transmitted Diseases. In females, STI is usually spread by having vaginal, oral or anal sex. Generally, it is caused by infections with bacteria or viruses. STIs caused by bacteria are treated with antibiotics.

Some STIs can also be transmitted during  pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding and through infected blood or blood products.
